Service Project 2006
Our Grade 5 Class wrote letters to the Canadian Soldiers in Afghanistan during Christmas of 2006. The overwhelming response and support from the Canadian troops and the public , was amazing! Our class was recognized on the local radio 97.7 , for doing such thoughtful and valuable thing, and making time for others, outside the normal classroom work! The soldiers were so kind and took the time to write most of the students back, which made it even more of a valuable experience. It is something that both I and the children will always remember!

Service Project 2009
In 2009 Our Grade 4 class took the time to give back to our elders. We went to a local senior citizen home in Grande Prairie and sang and performed songs for them. Both the children and the senior people loved it! The grade four's were so amazed at how a little singing could brighten their days so much!!

2012
While I taught Grade 5 this year, we had a classmate go on a missionary trip to Haiti with his family. As a class we decided to research what life was like their for the children their age. After our many discussions, the class then decided it would be a good idea to donate money and write letters to the children. Our class was so excited to receive letters back, and share with one another! They were able to read about the many different experiences and daily life challenges and struggles the children face their everyday.
